Oh this is so helpful, I just picked this power station up second hand and the battery is definitely due for replacement, I thought I wasted my money
That’s great you’re able to change the battery and hopefully got a good deal! Glad the tutorial was helpful. We definitely don’t need more trash in this world!
Thanks man but a little too much on the interface thing I'll get one eventually but
Nice inverters but they generate a lot of RF interference, Made my AM car radio useless and rendered my shortwave radio not usable.
Which model #? And which radios? KO6AVD
@@alexatwagan I would have to run downstairs in my basement since I took it out of service sometime ago., a Kenwood TS-690, noise blanker had little effect.
How to jumstart it? I dont see buttons to start the jumper, so that i can start the engine.
Great video. What about deep cell batteries in a fifth wheel?
Do you mean AGM deep cycle batteries? If so, it works!
Worthless video
Can I use msw for led tv
You can for the short term, but recommend people to use pure sine inverters long term.
I need about 6 for my property
Great! That’s a good amount of light. Feel free to check out our website www.wagan.com for options.
It would be good to solidly know the best. I repeat BEST case scenarios and devices and appliances that would do well with a MSW inverter.
For most people with occasional use and limited budget, MSW is just fine. If the inverter is being used as the workhorse for sensitive electronics, motor driven devices, or similar, we recommend PSW. Look for ones that are UL/ETL certified for safety and reliability.
I have had an older Vector 3000w 12v MSW inverter since 2007. (Vector was bought out by Coleman) It was the first one I ever got. I paid $70 at a pawn shop. I did use it for a year or so. Mainly at night to power my tv and a couple of lights. As I had 4 12v 100ah marine flooded batteries in parallel. I charged them with solar. I had a meager existence back than. Still do. Lol. I still have it though I have a Xantrex 2000w PSW inverter/charger for day- to-day use. It works beautifully. I have a 1000ah 12v lithium battery bank now. I keep the old vector forca hyst in case scenario. And I'm glad I did because my Xantrex recently had an issue for which it had to go out of service. Good to have a plan B.
Glad you got it sorted out
When I connect the inverter to my car battery must I start the car or can it stay off??and how long does it last till I start it?
If you’re using a high load for a while, you should have the engine running so you don’t kill your battery down. Our inverters have a low power alarm and shut down just in case.
do you have links to these 60 amp fuses and fuse holders on your site if you sell them? Or this 10 or 8awg wiring? Any links you have to the related parts would be cool.
Are these dusk to dawn. Your remotw control is somewhat confusing
All of our solar lighting are built for dusk to dawn lighting, unlike regular solar security lights.
I wonder if a modified sine wave inverter is safe to use for a smart LiFePO4 battery charger.
They should be just fine
mode 1 for maximum power on but when I arrive it is in standby mode and turns on again with the sensor... but I only want the mode 1 option and I can't get it
What size for a 16' Honda pilot?
Large will be good!
I can't seem to locate just the solar panel for the Lithium Cube 500. Can you provide a part number for it? Thanks
Here you go! You can use the 100w panels. The high efficiency version is updated to be more stout, but output is the same. wagan.com/collections/power-cube
@@WaganTech Thank you so much!
I have a msi gaming laptop. Any truckers out there looking to game out on the road like myself, a modified sine wave will not charge this laptop. The pure will probably do the trick but im not 100% certain. But i want to add, the reason for this comment is why im here based on the video and maybe others out there are too.
Great reasons. Even all pure sine inverters are not built the same. Wagan Tech pure sine inverters have a less than 3% THD, so they're even cleaner energy. Our inverters are used in military, first responder, and government applications.
Great video. I would like to know the following: If you do have an power adapter AC/DC (like with scanners, laptops and printers), is it safe to assume that a MSW will not cause any problems to electronics plugged to it?
Short term, MSW is fine, but if you use it regularly, definitely consider using pure sine inverters instead.
This was an absolute enlightening video in such a short time. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great explanation of what power inverters are. I wish you expanded to explain how they draw on vehicle batteries? Can it be connected to battery with vehicle not running? How much draw on vehicle battery? Do I need to start car once in awhile to keep battery charged? If so, how often. Does it greatly affect battery lifetime expectancy? Lots of questions, I know, regarding effect on battery. I would like you to use a typical 12v vehicle battery as an example. Thanks!
It really depends on the load and the size of the vehicle battery. Hopefully this will help: wagan.com/blogs/news/customer-question-how-long-will-my-inverter-run-for
It’s amazing company
Thanks! We have amazing fans.
when plugging in an inverter into the car battery, will it drain the battery and how much?

Where can i purchase this?
Sorry, this is an old product and is no longer in production.
Is the wattage based on the inverter's normal or peak watts?
For Wagan Tech inverters it’s always at normal wattage. Keep in mind that most of our inverters are true rated wattage meaning that you get 100% of the rated power versus many inverters out there will rate at 30% usage time after which it will drop at least 20% of what’s advertised. Hope that helps.
Grertings: Your video is very insightful and I appreciate you taking the time to share hour knowledge of these inverters....
Glad it was helpful!
My charger says full on screen all the tym
Thanks for the explanation. I have 2000w modified sine wave inverter and having listened to your explanation, I don't want to trash it. Can I continue to use it basically to charge phones battery? Please answer ASAP
That should be fine
Does the engine need to be running to use the inverter because I want to live in my car so I can live rent free and save money for a home but I also use a cpap machine but with the engine running it uses fuel and car battery
Great question, you should have the engine running if you're running it from the primary (starter) battery. You can also use a DC-DC charger and run an auxiliary (house) battery to run the inverter so you don't wake up to a dead starter battery. We can help with the DC-DC charger as well if you're interested.
@WaganTech I live in the UK I was just trying to figure out if I could use my cpap machine without the engine on as I don't want the car battery to die
@@tubzgames199 Technically yes you can, but depending on the size of your battery, it may run out of juice in the middle of the night. Most inverters out there will have a low voltage warning, so you may get an early alarm buzzer. For reference, a CPAP will use about 60-90watts (<1Amps 110VAC/0.4Amps 220VAC), depending on model. You'll need to calculate the Amp-hours your vehicle battery has in reserve and then know your running time. Hopefully that will add up to at least 8 hours of sleep. Good night and good luck.
Hi , I bought a slimline 1250 watt unit. I had a fuse installed on the positive cable. My inverter made a beeping sound after I used it for a while and shut off. I learned that the fuse was blown so I changed it. It began working again but began beeping after powering a 60 watt bulb for a while. Then it shut off. How can I fix this? Thanks
Please email us at customerservice@wagan.com and we can see how we can help you with this. Thank you!

I bought this item to use with a 12 volt car battery. I installed a fuse on the positive cable. The unit worked for a while but my appliances were above the wattage so the unit shut off. I changed the fuse and everything since the unit would not work for long but kept beeping until eventually shutting off. I was dependent on this energy source for my business. Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

diesel heater overnight
I guess the video was to promote the lithium jump starter more than teaching you how to jump start the hybrid vehicle
Great, I want you to recommend a charger for a 200Ah GEL, AGM BATTERY for inverter and thank you
AWESOME!
Definitely a unicorn build!
Hi, great video, I was using my laptop on a modified 1500 watts sine wave inverter, the laptop's charger was making a buzzing noize, that I wasn't experiencing on normal electrical wall socket, I want to know if it is still safe to work on my laptop even with the buzzing noize from the charger, by the way my battery is old so I keep thw laptop plugged to the charger all the time
Technically, there shouldn't be a safety issue, but if your laptop power supply is buzzing, it will mean it'll run hotter and less efficient. You might want to consider upgrading to a Wagan Tech Pure Line inverter if you're able.
@@WaganTech thank you🫡
i love your build! simple and functional.. btw, where did you get the ditch bracket? thanks
Can u fit food inside of soda?
If you're able to fit food inside of soda, we don't see why not!
How ro set up
Thanks for explaining most of the basic things about inverters.......
Glad it was helpful! We try to help others out there as much as we can!
So can i charge a 48v 500w 10A ebike battery on the go...
With the proper size Wagan Tech inverter, you should be just fine. Just check your AC draw specs (e.g., 10A @ 110V AC input). Your golden formula is Amps * Volts = Watts. Also, make sure your vehicle battery is large enough to support it and/or run your vehicle while you're charging. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Jeez, thanks.. I now know the reason why my modified sine wave inverter burn and create a white smoke... 😅 I just used an electricfan..
Be careful with inverters out there. Good modified sine inverters should not burn like that.
How about a 9m x 3m billboard 1. How many fixtures I would need 2. What size?
If you're using solar lighting for billboards, might we suggest getting solar powered sign washers instead? Ours are designed to cast light for far distances, not short broad "washing" light. Hope that helps.
Christ I have never gotten an answer so direct and fast in my life from a youtube video. No fat on this video at all. Absolutely perfect.
Glad we could help!
What size for a 2001 Honda CR-V
Small should be just fine.
Tengo un powerdome plex pero no tengo cargador será que me pueden desir que voltaje lleva de cargador

I’ll be going camping this summer 🏕️ my question is will a Milwaukee 18 volt 175 watt inverter power up my cpap machine ??
That should work fine since most CPAP machines will only require 75w. But, check with Milwaukee for details.
Thanks, coming from an electric idiot!
Proud owner of a yellow 2000 Xterra SE in mint condition, low miles, 2 inch PML in front and springs in back, ungraded shocks all-round, LS diffs front and back, 32 inch tires. Used for mild off road to Forest fire lookouts, hiking trail heads and exploration. Take very good care of my baby, love it and will never sell it !
